This replica of the 1716 “Booth” Stradivari by Curtin & Alf, 1990, is one of just seven replicas of classical Italian instruments built by Joseph Curtin and Gregg T. Alf during their twelve years as Curtin & Alf. The violin formerly belonged to Elmar Oliveira, who toured on it extensively and used it for his CD of the Joachim Concerto with the London Philharmonic (Masters, MCD 27). Oliveira currently plays the “Lady Stretton” Guarneri del Gesu and a Curtin & Alf replica of it.
